KeepCycle and KeepAlcove are built so your information stays on your device, encrypted, and is never transmitted to us, sold, or shared with advertisers. There is no account to create and no server that stores your entries.
What we collect
These apps do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, health data, or usage content on our servers. Everything you enter, cycle data, notes, reminders, test results, or any other content, is encrypted on your device using a key derived from your own passcode and never leaves that device unless you personally choose to export or share it.
If you ask KeepCycle or KeepAlcove to import your history from Apple Health, or to read medical records through Apple's Health Records feature, that information is read on your phone into the same encrypted store; nothing is written back and nothing is sent anywhere.
If you use the clinic finder or vaccine finder features, the zip code you enter is sent, with your explicit permission requested each time, to look up nearby locations. It is used only for that single request and is not stored by us or linked to any other information about you.
What we don't do
- We don't put ads on any screen that shows your data, and we don't use ad trackers on those screens. The free tier shows a single non-personalized banner on the lock screen (and, in KeepCycle, the theme picker) and nowhere else; it is never told what you've logged. Paid tiers have no ads.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with any third party, because we never have access to it in the first place.
- We don't require an account, email address, or phone number to use these apps.
- We don't use analytics tools that identify individual users.
Data you choose to export or share
Some features let you generate an export (a printable doctor summary, an encrypted backup file, a partner snapshot). That export is created and stored entirely on your device or in a location you choose, such as your own iCloud Drive, Files app, or email. We never receive a copy.
Your rights over your own data
Because your data lives only on your device, you hold all of it directly:
- Access: everything you've logged is visible in the app at any time.
- Correction: you can edit or correct any past entry directly in the app.
- Deletion: deleting an entry removes it immediately. Deleting the app removes everything; we have no copy to separately delete, because we never had one.
- Portability: the export feature lets you take a copy of your data with you in a readable format at any time.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, California law gives you specific rights over your personal information, including the right to know what's collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party, and because we do not collect or store your health data at all, there is nothing on our end to know, correct, or delete beyond what's described above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
A note on California's reproductive and sexual health data law (AB 254): California law extends heightened medical-confidentiality protections to businesses that collect reproductive or sexual health information through an app. KeepCycle and KeepAlcove are deliberately built so that we never receive, collect, or store this information in any form, it is encrypted on your device using a key only you hold, and no copy of it ever reaches us. Our architecture is designed specifically not to trigger the data-collection requirements that laws like AB 254 place on services that do collect this information.
Children's privacy
Keep Suite apps are not directed at children and are not intended for use by anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children, consistent with the fact that we do not collect personal information from any user, of any age.
Data retention and deletion
We retain nothing, because nothing is ever transmitted to us. Your data's retention is entirely in your control, on your device, for as long as you choose to keep the app installed.
Security
Your data is encrypted on your device using a key derived from your own passcode. We do not have access to this key and cannot decrypt or recover your data on your behalf, including if you forget your passcode.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Because we don't collect contact information from users, we're not able to notify you directly, so we'd encourage checking back periodically if you'd like to stay current.
